Live in the now

Sydney-based Cindy sent me a link on an interesting article. Here are some interesting tips on how to be happy:

  • Experiences, such as travelling to new places, going to dinner with friends, or taking the kids to a carnival, are more rewarding than material possessions.
  • It is close family ties that truly are the key to happiness
  • Hygge, which is difficult to translate, means something close to coziness, such as staying in and having a cup of tea and a chat with friends. Danes are closer to their family, to their colleagues, to their friends. They meet more often. And they argue that they have…more to do with each other.
  • Be open. Avoid mental time travel that keeps you ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. Attend instead to the beauty, kindnesses, and all manner of gifts within this present moment.
