My top 10 things to do this Holy Week

Forgive this post for lacking religious elements. Ideally, this post would have been all about beachbumming but I’m home with the family and we’re just making the most out of our free time.

(It sucks that they have a beach trip next week and I can’t join because work resumes next week, right?)

  1. Read a book
  2. Draw Something
  3. Upload photos in Facebook
  4. Organize files
  5. Backup files
  6. Read sequel of the book
  7. Eat
  8. Sleep
  9. Draw Something
  10. Eat some more

I am definitely not complaining. But yeah, a trip to the beach – especially with this unbearable heat – would have been grand.

Countdown

An apology is in order. I couldn’t think of how else to say it – or maybe I just had too much of Beyonce today. Here are the seven stories I owe you in a form of a…

Countdown

1 building away from each other
2 out-of-town trips together
3 exes we’ve each had
4 interesting clothing items I received as gifts from you
5 years ago since we first met
6 spreads that I needed to fill to surprise you with a birthday magazine
7 lucky months together :)

I’m crossing my fingers I got the details right. I’m terrible with numbers, remember?

An attempt to get a “life”

It has been a very pretty busy day involving 4 simple tasks called sleep, eat, drink, and well, attempt to be merry.

Sleep.
Drink lots of water.
Eat lots of soup.
Drink lots of water.
Bathroom break
Lunch.
Drink your vitamins
Drink lots of water.
Bathroom break.
Watch noontime TV show.
Drink lots of water.
Surf the Internet for a bit.
Bathroom break.
Drink tea.
Eat lots of soup.
Bathroom break.
Sleep.
Bathroom break.
Surf the Internet for a bit.

It’s already afternoon but I’m quite sure I can watch another noontime show if I’d stay up for Willing-Willie…

Keepin it real simple

Truth be told, I have just what I need in my life: a supportive family, a great love and a stable career. With that said, I couldn’t really ask for more than what I have now in my life except for it to get better, stronger and even more fun.

This 2011, I will do my best to – so to speak – uncomplicate my life. I came across a helpful list some time ago and I couldn’t cross it off my mind. I’m posting it here so it would serve as a reminder of how to live a simpler but richer life:

1. Don’t try to read other people’s minds

2. Get up 30 minutes earlier so that you don’t rush/get a ticket while driving too fast/have to explain why you’re late/get fired

3. Get 8 hours of sleep per night so that you think more clearly

4. Stick to your budget

5. Start saving and investing every week, no matter how little you can spare

6. Balance your checkbook

7. Don’t try to be friends with everyone. Cultivate closer relationships with fewer people.

8. Don’t try to do business with everyone. Identify your target client and take very good care of them.

9. Before getting angry, ask yourself if it will really matter in 20 years

10. Focus on being a good person, not on pleasing others
